Li Keqiang Meets with President Milos Zeman of Czech Republic

In the afternoon of October 27, 2014, Premier Li Keqiang met with President Milos Zeman of the Czech Republic at the Great Hall of the People.

Li Keqiang said that the relations between China and the Czech Republic are currently developing forward along the right track. President Xi Jinping held practical and friendly talks with Mr. President. I believe that the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between China and the Czech Republic will serve as an opportunity to push the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries to a new stage.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the practical cooperation between China and the Czech Republic enjoys huge potential and broad prospects. China boasts advanced technology, rich experience, solid strength and favorable cost performance in equipment manufacturing industries such as nuclear power and high-speed railway. The Chinese government encourages competent Chinese enterprises to actively participate in projects such as the expansion and reconstruction of Czech nuclear power utilities. The cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) is in the common interest of both sides and conductive to a comprehensive and balanced development of the China-Europe relations. China is willing to strengthen the practical cooperation with the CEEC including the Czech Republic to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Zeman said that the Czech Republic is willing to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with China and welcomes Chinese enterprises to expand investment in the Czech Republic and to actively participate in the infrastructure construction such as Czech nuclear power utilities. The Czech Republic successfully held the CEEC-China Local Leaders’ Meeting and will continue to play an active role in promoting bilateral cooperation.
