Li Keqiang Meets with President Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania

In the afternoon of October 24, 2014, Premier Li Keqiang met with President Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania at the Great Hall of the People.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Tanzania are good friends and good partners sharing weal and woe. President Xi Jinping held fruitful talks with Mr. President. China will uphold the principles of “sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith”, consolidate the China-Tanzania traditional friendship, deepen communication and cooperation in various fields, and promote the bilateral cooperation for more fruitful results, so as to push forward China-Africa relations for new levels.

Li Keqiang noted that China stands ready to deepen cooperation with Tanzania in agriculture, industrial parks, finance and other fields and carry out cooperation in regional aviation by encouraging the airline companies of the two countries to enhance cooperation through setting up joint ventures and other approaches. China hopes that Tanzania could support China's airworthiness standards to be compatible to East Africa's unified aviation safety standards. China, Tanzania and Zambia should work together to adopt the innovative ideas, give the leading role of the market into play, activate the Tanzania-Zambia railway in priority and let the “road of friendship” among the three nations display new vigor, so as to make it an exemplary project in the operation and management of railways in Africa in the new era.

Jakaya Kikwete said that Tanzania and China have always understood and supported each other since the establishment of diplomatic relationship 50 years ago, and the bilateral relations have witnessed continuous development. Tanzania is grateful to China for its help and support to the economic and social development of Tanzania and stands ready to, together with China, deepen traditional friendship, expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and well operate the Tanzania-Zambia railway together with Zambia, so as to promote the common development in the region and push forward the Tanzania-China and Africa-China cooperation fo
