Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras of Greece

In the morning of October 16 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras of Greece in Milan.

Li Keqiang expressed that currently the relations and cooperation between China and Greece have entered a new stage of development. China supports enterprises on the Chinese side to participate in privatization projects in Greece. The Chinese side stands ready to work with the Greek side to advance practical cooperation in an orderly manner in such areas as port and other infrastructure construction, oceanic affairs, shipping and finance, promote Asia-Europe connectivity, push the development of the China-Greece comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the Chinese side appreciates Greece's positive role in promoting the China-EU relations during its assuming of rotating presidency of the EU in the first half of this year. The Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with the Greek side to promote greater development of the China-EU relations.

Samaras expressed that Premier Li Keqiang paid a successful visit to Greece in June, which effectively promoted the development of the bilateral relations and the EU-China relations. The Greek side is willing to work with the Chinese side to well implement results of the visit. The Greek side welcomes Chinese enterprises to actively participate in Greece's privatization process, jointly push forward cooperation projects such as the Piraeus Port and enhance cooperation in such areas as shipping, logistics, infrastructure construction and finance, advance Europe-Asia connectivity and promote the Greece-China relations and EU-China relations for new development.
