Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung of Viet Nam

In the morning of October 16 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung of Viet Nam in Milan.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Viet Nam are neighbors. Through the joint efforts, the two countries have overcome difficulties they encountered some time ago and bilateral relations are restoring gradually. It is hoped that both sides implement well the consensus reached by leaders of the two political parties and the two countries so as to promote the sound and stable development of bilateral relations.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China and Viet Nam should well take the overall direction of the development of bilateral relations and properly handle,and well manage and control maritime differences so as to create necessary and favorable conditions for bilateral cooperation. Both sides should plan well the overall situation of mutually beneficial cooperation, continue to push forward all-round practical cooperation in maritime, overland and financial sectors. I hope that Viet Nam could meet China halfway and advance bilateral relations and cooperation in a practical and flexible way.

Nguyen Tan Dung expressed that Viet Nam and China are friendly neighbors. Viet Nam is committed to promoting the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation. Viet Nam stands ready to work with the Chinese side to implement well the consensus reached by both sides, strengthen high-level exchanges, cement traditional friendship, boost mutual understanding and trust, properly manage and control and handle maritime differences, give full play to mechanisms such as the Guiding Committee for Viet Nam-China Bilateral Cooperation and boost cooperation in infrastructure, finance, joint maritime development and other fields so as to realize mutual benefit, win-win results and common development.
