Li Keqiang Lays Wreath at Russia's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

In the morning of October 13 local time, Premier Li Keqiang laid a wreath at Russia's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which was the first official activity Russia has specially arranged for Li Keqiang's visit.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier outside the Kremlin was built to commemorate the victims in the anti-Fascist war. When Li Keqiang arrived, Commander Seleznev of the Moscow Garrison and other Russian officials greeted him.

Li Keqiang slowly walked to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, with the Russian guard of honor saluting to him, the military band playing the march, and the army flag bending forward. When he came to the eternal flame of the Tomb, Li Keqiang stepped forward to tidy the ribbon of the wreath. The military band played the magnificent national anthem of the People's Republic of China. The atmosphere on the site was solemn.

Afterwards Li Keqiang inspected the march-past of the guard of honor.

Li Keqiang said that these martyrs at rest, who have made significant contributions to the cause of peace of mankind, are not only the pride of the Russian people, but also that of the peace-loving people around the world. The Chinese people will not forget the history of the two countries joining hands and fighting side by side against the fascist invasion. China is willing to work with Russia to jointly well hold the celebration and commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of World War II, and to jointly safeguard the fruits of the victory of World War II as well as the post-war international order.
