Li Keqiang Meets with Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko of Russia

In the morning of October 13 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met in Moscow with Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko of Russia.

Li Keqiang expressed that the development of China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination conduces not only to the two peoples, but also to world peace, regional stability, and development of global cooperation. China is willing to join efforts with Russia to consolidate and earnestly implement the current cooperation results, continue discussing new cooperation fields and projects, and expand local exchanges, so as to promote China-Russia relations for higher level. I hope that the legislative bodies of the two nations could enhance contacts and exchanges and provide positive support and promotions to the bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China's position as a developing country will not change in the long run, the achievement of its modernization still needs a long time and its development boasts great potentials, which is believed to provide the close and in-depth cooperation between China and Russia with new opportunities.

Valentina Matviyenko expressed that both Russia and China, important forces in maintaining world peace and stability, advocate the world multi-polarization and democratization of international relations. The two nations respect and take care of each other's core interests and major concerns and the bilateral relations are standing at the highest level in history. Russia is fully confident in the future of Russia-China relations, is pleased with the great development accomplishment achieved by China, and is willing to intensify cooperation with the Chinese side, in which the Federation Council of Russia will play a positive promoting role.
