Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of Russia Co-chair 19th Regular Meeting Between Chinese and Russian Prime Ministers, Agreeing to Join Efforts to Promote Upgrading of China-Russia Practical Cooperation and to Enrich the connotation of China-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination

In the afternoon of October 13 local time, Premier Li Keqiang co-chaired the 19th Regular Meeting between Chinese and Russian Prime Ministers along with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of Russia in Moscow. The Chinese Premier and Russian Prime Minister held practical and in-depth talks, listened to the work progress reported by four cooperation mechanisms of China-Russia Committee on Humanistic Cooperation, Committee for Regular Meetings between Chinese and Russian Prime Ministers, China-Russia Investment Cooperation Committee and China-Russia Energy Cooperation Committee, and together blueprinted the overall cooperation between the two countries in the next stage.

Li Keqiang expressed that enhancing cooperation between China and Russia, biggest neighbors and important partners to each other and both as major emerging markets, is conducive to the peace and development of the world. The two heads of state have held multiple meetings this year and the Chinese Premier and Russian Prime Minister held the 19th Regular Meeting, which fully indicates the strategic significance, stability and long-term nature of China-Russia relations. China is willing to join efforts with the Russian side to fully tap the huge potentials of the bilateral cooperation, translate the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination at a high-level into more practical cooperative results and constantly enrich the connotation of China-Russia relations, which will not only bring benefits to the two countries and peoples, but also conduce to regional stability and recovery of global economy.

Li Keqiang noted that China stands ready to, together with the Russian side, enhance cooperation in economy and trade to realize the goal of raising bilateral trade volume to 100 billion USD in 2015 and to promote the trade cooperation for improvement in both quantity and quality; strengthen cooperation on major investment projects in mining, chemical industry, agriculture, infrastructure, and other fields, push forward the construction of Eurasian high-speed transport corridor linking Beijing and Moscow and prioritize the implementation of the project of high-speed railway between Moscow and Kazan; increase the two-way investment and promote the simultaneous move of the two wheels of economy and trade and investment; deepen cooperation in nuclear power and energy in an integrated manner that covers upstream, midstream and downstream industries and conduct more cooperation in major strategic projects such as joint research and development, promotion and application and producing and manufacturing so as to push forward the upgrading of China-Russia practical cooperation; carry out local currency exchanges in the field of financial cooperation; intensify people-to-people and cultural exchanges, conduct joint operation of schools, jointly develop cultural industry, ensure the success of the China-Russia Youth Friendly Exchanges Year to be held next year and jointly celebrate the activities marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World War II, so as to lay a solider social and public opinion foundation for the in-depth development of bilateral relations.

Dmitry Medvedev warmly welcomed Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Russia and holding of the 19th Regular Meeting Between Chinese and Russian Prime Ministers. Dmitry Medvedev expressed that the current relations between Russia and China, as close friends and partners to each other, are standing at a high level and the bilateral cooperation has yielded fruitful results. Russia is willing to join efforts with China to give the great advantages and potential of the economic development of both countries into play, promote both sides to conduct large-scale investment in each other's country, enhance joint research and development and production, and advance cooperation in transportation infrastructure, aviation and other fields, striving to make Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination develop at a higher level.

After the meeting, the Chinese Premier and Russian Prime Minister signed the Joint Communique of the 19th Regular Meeting Between Chinese and Russian Prime Ministers and witnessed the signing of nearly 40 important cooperative documents covering economy, trade, investment, energy, finance, high-tech, people-to-people and cultural engagement and other fields.

Vice Premier and Chair of the China-Russia Committee on Humanities Cooperation on the Chinese side Liu Yandong, Vice Premier and Chair of Committee for Regular Meetings between Chinese and Russian Prime Ministers on the Chinese side Wang Yang, Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia Sergei Eduardovich Prikhodko, Olga Golodets, Arkady Dvorkovich and Dmitry Rogozin as well as chiefs of the relevant departments of the two governments were present at the above activities.
