Li Keqiang Arrives in Berlin for Official Visit to Germany

In the afternoon of October 9 local time, Premier Li Keqiang, at the invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel of the Federal Republic of Germany, arrived at the Tegel Military Airport in Berlin by special plane, starting his official visit to Germany.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Germany established the new positioning of all-round strategic partnership this March. At present, the two countries enjoy frequent exchanges at various levels and the depth and breadth of bilateral cooperation have reached an unprecedented level. I am looking forward to, together with German leaders, exchanging in-depth views on bilateral relations and topics of common interest, enhancing strategic mutual trust, planning medium to long term cooperation in economy, trade, innovation and other fields, and providing a strong foundation for people-to-people friendship, so as to promote China-Germany relations for new development at a high starting point.

During the visit, Li Keqiang will meet with President Joachim Gauck of Germany, co-chair with Chancellor Angela Merkel the third round of China-Germany intergovernmental consultation, and attend and address respectively the China-Germany Economic and Technical Cooperation Forum and the Hamburg Summit of China-Europe Forum.

Senior officials of German government, H.E. Shi Mingde, Chinese Ambassador to Germany, and others greeted Li Keqiang at the airport.
