Yang Jiechi Meets with Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand

On July 11, 2014, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met at Zhongnanhai with Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, who was in China for holding the second round of China-Thailand Strategic Dialogue.

Yang Jiechi expressed that China stands ready to join efforts with the Thai side to promote the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation and relations between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for sustainable and healthy development. China hopes Thailand achieve political stability and economic prosperity at an early date and wishes its people live and work in peace and contentment.

Sihasak said that the Thai side attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with China, and will continue deepening bilateral cooperation in various fields and playing a positive role in promoting the development of ASEAN-China relationship. No matter how the situation in Thailand changes, the overall situation of Thailand-China friendship will not be affected.
