Yang Jiechi Attends "Africa Day" Reception Hosted by African Mission in China

On May 23, 2013, State Councilor Yang Jiechi attended the reception held by the African Mission in China to celebrate the "Africa Day".

Yang Jiechi delivered remarks to extend warm festive congratulations to the African countries and peoples. He said, strengthening the solidarity and cooperation with the African countries has been the long-term and firm strategic choice of the Chinese government. President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders paid visits to Africa successively in the past one-year time, which fully indicates the great importance the Chinese new leadership attached to China-Africa relationship. China will join efforts with the African side, under the guidance of the four-item principles of "sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith", to deepen practical cooperation in various fields, so as to advance the new type of China-Africa strategic partnership to a new high.

Mauritanian Ambassador to China Bal Mohamed El Habib read out the message of congratulations from Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the African Union and President of Mauritania.
