In the afternoon of May 8, 2014, Premier Li Keqiang, accompanied by Vice President Manuel Domingos Vicente of Angola, visited the CITIC BN Vocational School in Luanda, capital of Angola.

The CITIC BN Vocational School is a non-profit school co-financed by both the Chinese side and the Angolan side providing vocational training for the impoverished youths from the age of 16 to 25 in Angola for free, helping them continue their education and get employed. The School now offers electrician, mechanical operation and other majors urgently needed in Angola.

Upon Li Keqiang’s arrival, the students of the School performed ebullient African dances to welcome him. Li Keqiang and Vicente jointly cut the ribbon and unveiled the nameplate for the establishment and the opening of the School.

In the school library, Li Keqiang leafed through textbooks while communicating with the students. He told them that employment means hope, and you will be able to communicate with Chinese technicians after mastering Chinese and technical abilities. I wish you succeed in study and acquire a good job in future.

When visiting the classroom, Li Keqiang was greeted by the local students in Chinese. The students also recited Chinese classic literature for him. Li Keqiang praised them for their fluent Chinese and wished them achieve better results in school.

Li Keqiang told the school head, you have brought the concept of the “Hope Project” to Africa helping the impoverished African youths acquire technical abilities without charge. Educational Localization is much more vigorous and properly carrying it out is also conducive to enhancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Africa.

Following the visit, Li Keqiang presented books to the School.
