Li Keqiang Meets with Members of the Board of Directors of Boao Forum for Asia

On April 10, 2014, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council met with members of the Board of Directors of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) in Boao, Hainan Province.

Li Keqiang expressed that political and economic pattern of the world is now undergoing profound adjustments. The general trend of economic globalization is irreversible. Asia should be deeply integrated with the world in order to obtain better development for itself. The Annual Conference this time will conduct discussions focusing on enhancing the endogenous driving force for economic development of Asian countries, which is conducive to promoting Asia to realize development at a higher level.

Li Keqiang pointed out, for the past 13 years since the establishment of the BFA, it has made its specific contributions to building consensus of Asia and promoting the development of China and Asia. Hope that the Forum will take the whole world in view while being based in Asia and serving Asia, will discuss and promote the practical cooperation while talking about the general principles, will be all-embracing and expand discussions on political, security and diplomatic topics related to economy while giving priority to economic topics. The Chinese government will as always support the development and growth of the Forum, and is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with all countries through the platform of the Forum.

The members of the Board of Directors thanked the Chinese government for its great support to the BFA. They expressed that the Forum focuses on the future development of Asia and its scale and influence have kept expanding in recent years. The Forum will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side and all other relevant parties, to go for the aim of the Forum, making more contributions to the development of China, Asia and the world at large.

State Councilor Yang Jing was present at the meeting.
