The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China attended the handing-over ceremony of the equipment and materials donated to the Barbados Queen Elizabeth Hospital by the Government of the People's Republic of China

On May 17, H.E. Yan Xiusheng, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Barbados and Mrs. Cheryl Alleyne , Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Barbados attended the handing-over ceremony of the equipment and materials donated to the Barbados by the government of the People’s Republic of China. The Economic and Commercial Counsellor Ms Qu Ying, the CEO of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Ms Louise Bobb and members of the Chinese Medical Team participated in the ceremony.

Ambassador Yan expressed at the ceremony that the donation of medical equipment and materials to the Barbados Queen Elizabeth Hospital reflected the Chinese government and people's friendly feelings to the government and people of Barbados and would further improve the conditions of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He believed that the Chinese medical team and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital colleagues would make full use of this medical equipment and materials to make the treatment skills better and faster, and benefit more Barbadians. The Chinese government will actively implement the concept of "building a community with a shared future for mankind " proposed by H.E. Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China, further deepen cooperation in the field of medical and health care and promote further development of friendly and cooperative relations between China and Barbados.

Deputy Permanent Secretary Cheryl Alleyne sincerely thanked the Chinese government for the generous donation, highly praised the Chinese medical team in Barbados for their great achievements, and expressed that the donation would greatly enhance the ability of Queen Elizabeth Hospital towards medical care services and benefit more patients in Barbados.

Counsellor Qu Ying and CEO of Queen Elizabeth Hospital Louise Bobbb signed the handover certificate on behalf of both parties.
